ODD ON TUTU Coppélia Leotard & Sylfiden Skirt — The Set I Had to Lose Weight to Wear

I paid for both of these myself. Not sponsored.

I saw the product photo. I came to my senses and the order had already gone through.

That’s genuinely how this purchase happened, and I suspect it’s why the whole thing sold out within days of launching — the model shots did all the work.

It’s currently out of stock with no restock date. But ODD ON TUTU’s popular pieces do come back around, so hold on.

The leotard

Colour

It shifts with the light, but it is not a dull, dark beige. It’s a milky beige — beige with a few drops of milk stirred in.

Under studio lighting it photographs a little darker than it looks in person.

One practical note

The mesh panels cover enough that you don’t need nipple covers. Nothing shows. Good.

Size and fit

I took M, going off the brand’s detailed size guide, and it fit well.

The stretch is generous, so it moves with you rather than restricting anything.

The ribbon detail is ODD ON TUTU’s signature and it’s very sweet.

The skirt — and the sizing warning

The skirt is genuinely princess-like. The fabric is full, the pleating is perfect.

It looks like it’s cut from the same fabric as the leotard’s mesh — the same milky beige. They belong together. I don’t have the confidence to mix this skirt with anything else in my closet.

And when you turn in centre with Swarovski catching the light, it stops being practice wear and becomes a stage costume. You do briefly become a ballerina.

⚠️ Size up

I took S, and it was slightly too small.

The problem is the pleating. I was afraid that if I forced it, the pleats would tear.

So I lost weight instead.

I became a person who dieted in order to fit into an item of clothing. I bought it in February. I got into it in April.

The skirt’s waistband does not have much stretch. Take one size up. Please learn from me.

Worth it?

The photo from the day it finally fit is one I’m keeping.

I still look round in it — but the before was rounder, so apply a generous filter on my behalf.

It would be beautiful for repertoire class. I don’t know which ballet yet.

If you’re ordering: leotard true to size, skirt one size up.
